Once you have made the decision to replace your worktop, one of the initial decisions to be made is what type of material you will use to create your worktop. At Surrey Marble and Granite we work with seven different natural stones to create kitchen worktops for customers all across the United Kingdom. The natural stones that we use are:

Quarella

Arena Stone

Marble

Silestone

Granite

Limestone and

Caesar Stone

You may be thinking 'what are those stones? I didn't even know there were that many.' Do not worry! If you are confused surrounding what type of stone you should use and want to see them up close and personal feel free to come down to our showroom. In the showroom we have a number of model environments set up with stones that we offer on display and we offer samples that you may take home if you need additional input from others on the kitchen worktops that you are considering.

Both Marble and granite are naturally occurring, igneous rocks, which are rocks formed under pressure in the Earth's crust when magma cools. Marble, though, tends to be more porous than Granite is, which makes granite a more popular choice for kitchen worktops and marble a more popular choice for bathrooms and other areas in the home.

In our workshop, our skilled craftsmen work hard to create the look that you have specified. No matter what your price range, we will make sure that your worktop is created with the utmost care and looks absolutely stunning. We offer a variety of finishes for our kitchen worktops depending on what you are looking for. For example, our antique finish will give your worktop an older, more luxurious look while our flamed finish will create a worktop that is very rough and resistant to slipping. Whether you want your worktop smooth, glossy, rough, shiny or not shiny at all- you are sure to find a finish that you love for your kitchen!

Our kitchen worktops come in a vast array of colours so whether you are looking for something to fit your current kitchen or something to base your new kitchen around- you are sure to find the perfect colour match. The wonderful thing about natural stone is that it is easy to clean and maintain- if you love and care for your worktop it will return the favour by looking just as good as the day it was installed and it will last you for years and years to come.
