To meet the growing demand for students with Unigraphics NX

by:KingKonree     2020-07-02
Currently, these courses are offered by faculties trained by Siemens, the developers of Unigraphics NX, in over 75 CADD centres covering all major cities in India. The course fee of Foundation Course in Unigraphics NX-CAD, the 80-hour module, is Rs 18900, and the Advanced Course in Unigraphics-CAM, a 40-hour module, is Rs 9900, excluding tax. The objective of the courses is to teach students to design and model various mechanical products, develop design and modeling techniques, optimize design process, design for manufacturing, improve data collaboration and create robust designs. Commenting about the launch of the Unigraphics NX courses, Mr Karaidi Selvan, Managing Director, CADD Centre, said that Unigraphics NX is a leading CAD/CAM/CAE system based on the best technologies for creating products of any complexity. In India, it is the third most popular modeling package after Pro/E and CATIA, having the fastest growing industrial user base and student community. aEoeIn our own estimate, the Indian industry alone needs 500 to 1000 professionals with Unigraphics NX knowledge every month. After completing the course students can be employed as a design engineer in all types of manufacturing units, engineering services outsourcing firms, auto ancillary units, and aerospace companies. CADD Centre is expected to train 1000 students in Unigraphics NX in the next six months. Fresh mechanical students and professionals, ideally with basic 2D knowledge can enroll in the course. CADD Centre is introducing the Unigraphics NX courses in few more centres in the next couple of months. Mr Selvan said that CADD Centre's courseware including NX CAD Reference Guide, MCADD workbook, and NX CAM Reference Guide, is approved by Unigraphics NX. The faculties are trained by the executives of Siemens, the developers of Unigraphics. CADD Centre is engaging more faculties in the training using Unigraphics NX's global support centres and regional trainers. After completing the Foundation Course on Unigraphics NX-CAD, students would be able to: create profiles for 3D models, design solid, surface and sheet metal geometry, build assemblies, prepare production drawings, apply geometric tolerances to drawings, exchange data with other CAD applications, and create realistic rendering. While, the Advanced Course in Unigraphics NX-CAM will help students to master common manufacturing functions, planar milling, engrave text, face milling, cavity milling, z-level milling, thread milling, area milling, flow cutting, radial cutting, surface area cutting centerline drilling, groove and thread operations. The main objective of Unigraphics NX is to reduce the cost of creating products, improve design quality and quicken the time to market. It is a popular package, enjoying the market share, equal to other leading products in its space. Some of the companies that are using Unigraphics NX in India include: Maruti, Mahindra & Mahindra, Bajaj Auto, Tata Motors, Asia Motor Works, Ashok Leyland - Nissan, Hero Honda, Escorts, General Motors India, Ford India, Hindusthan Aeronautics Limited, ISRO, Indian Navy, BHEL, L&T, and Indian Railways. The functionality features of Unigraphics NX include: Synchronous technology, which enables designers to seamlessly use the most productive modeling approaches in the same environment including explicit solid and surface modeling, as well as parametric and history-free modeling; Knowledge-based automation, which helps users to leverage the product and process knowledge that a company has gained from its experiences, as well as from industry best practices; Process innovation that lets companies to streamline and integrate the everyday work of planning, concept design, engineering, simulation and manufacturing teams, and lifecycle simulation for streamlining simulation, validation and optimization processes, and incorporating performance simulation into product development process.
