The tool shown in the figure has a good LED function that alerts the user when the correct force is applied to the cinch fixture.
Wait. I know what you\'re thinking. . .
It\'s a lot of money for a stupid tool!
I am also a little wary of spending so much money.
However, I have replaced nearly 30 accessories in my home with my cinch tool.
Paying the plumber to do what I can cost hundreds of dollars, and the cost is much lower!
First: determine the size of the PEX pipe.
The pipe size is printed on the side of the pipe.
If these marks are not visible, measuring the inner diameter of the pipe is a sure bet.
Common dimensions of PEX tubes include: 3/8 \", 1/2\", 3/4 \"and 1 \".
Second: figure out which components you need to replace.
Leaking water is easy to find, so you should be able to determine which accessory (s)or section(s)
The tubing is leaking.
Once you have identified the leak point, cut off that part of the pipe and take it to the hardware store.
Note: instructions for doing so can be found in step 5 of this manual.
Third: brass or plastic?
When you arrive at the hardware store, the part of your pipe is-
On the one hand, you will face the option of replacing accessories with brass or plastic.
Personally, I used all the brass fittings at home.
Although the price of brass fittings is slightly higher, it will not become brittle or weak like plastic fittings.
Fourth: white or red?
The PEX pipe has two different colors: pure white and pure red. (
White means cold water line, red means hot water line).
Purchase the color of the tube that matches the tube to be replaced.
The first picture: you can find a variety of common replacement accessories and supplies in the local hardware store.
The second picture: for this description, we will replace part of the 1/2 \"tubing containing the following components: pex fpt rotation-
Screw into the bottom of the sink or shower tap. PEX ball valve-
It is usually installed to allow the user to quickly stop the water supply of the sink or shower. PEX Tubing -
This is a section of the cold water supply line.
The most common way to sell PEX pipes is-the-foot.
PEX stainless steel clamp-
These pexfittingly PEXtubing clips are used for fixing.
They are usually sold for 10 packs and available in all sizes.
Before you start your pipeline adventure, turn off the water and find the total water pipe valve in your home.
Close the valve.
You can release the water pressure in the pipe you are going to work by opening the tap where the pipe is supplied with water.
This will also allow you to check again if the water is off.
After successfully closing the water pipe, you can start your pipeline adventure!
First, cut PEXtubing directly below the leak fitting.
In this case, the pipe is cut directly under the leaking plastic globe valve.
Note: it is important to keep the pipe cutter vertical or 90 degrees on the pipe when cutting.
If the other end of the pipe is screwed into the bottom of the tap, you need to disconnect the accessory from the tap by turning it counter-clockwise.
Once you have removed the leaking part of the pipe, you will need to go to the local hardware store to purchase the necessary replacement parts.
Cut the new part of the tubingNext and you will need to cut the new PEX pipe to the correct length.
Use the old part as a guide, measure the length of the new pipe and make a mark where the cut (
It\'s great to mark the work permanently! ).
Note: it is better to cut the tube too long, not too short.
After the mark is completed, cut the pipe using the cutter.
Similarly, when cutting, be sure to keep the cutter vertical or 90 degrees on the pipe.
Connect the accessories to the new section of the tubing7a. )
It is always helpful to arrange the parts in the way they are assembled. 7b. )
Start assembling parts by pressing FPTSwivel into one end of the PEX pipe. 7c. )
Make sure that the accessory is fully positioned against the end of the pipe.
If there is a gap (more than 1/8\")
: Try to reposition the accessories.
If the gap still exists, more than 1/8 \", a new Tubing segment needs to be cut.
The key to good cutting is to keep the cutter perpendicular to the pipe.
If there is almost no gap (less than 1/8\")
: Proceed to the next step. 7d. )
Please note the gap at the end of the cinch tool.
This gap needs to be placed on the tab raised on the clamp. 7e. )
Keep the tool in place and place the clamp at 1/8 \"below the end of the PEX tubing. 7f. )
Keep the spacing of 1/8 and squeeze the handle of the cinch tool multiple times until the LED light is on.
Stop squeezing once the LED lights light up!
LED lights are designed to alert users when applying appropriate force.
Next, turn the release knob counter-clockwise to release the part. 7g. )
After installing the clamp, you should check the clamp frequently.
The clamp installed should look the same as the following figure.
For the sake of safety, you can try to get the fittings out of the tube.
Accessories should not even start sliding out of the tube if they are done right.
If the clamp does not look like the picture below, or if the accessory starts to slide out of the tube when pulling, then the clamp needs to be removed and replaced.
Note: removing the clip can be a hard process.
I always wear gloves when I try to remove the clamp, so I don\'t remove a part of my finger!
I found a pair of pointed or thin.
When removing the clamp that is not needed, the tip clamp works best. Good luck! 7h. )
Slide the second clamp over the free end of the tube. 7i. )
Press the ball valve fittings to the free end of the tube.
Note: If you want the valve handle to point below when the valve is opened, adjust the valve direction as shown below.
If you like the handle pointing up when the valve is open, position the valve with the handle pointing to FPT.
See step 10 for a better understanding.
By sliding the clamp onto the existing PEXtubing, repeat the new section of steps7c to 7g to install the tubbingstart.
Next, slide the free end of the ball valve into place.
Using the cinch tool, repeat the clamping process explained in steps 7 C to 7g.
You have successfully installed the new pipe section!
Screw the FPT adapter into the bottom of the tap and fasten the FPT adapter to the faucetFinish.
Turn the valve to the closing position (
Vertical to tubing).
Turn on the tap and make sure the tap handle is fully open.
Check again to make sure the valve is in a closed position (
Vertical to tubing).
You can now safely re-open the pipe.
After opening the water pipe, you can slowly turn the valve to the on position.
The water should start flowing immediately after the valve is opened.
