Why not consider turning your shed into a luxurious personal spa? It may seem like a murky, damp environment in which to build a relaxing area, however with some elbow grease and a lick of paint, it can be done.
Firstly, have a really good deep clean of the shed; hot water and soap is a great start, and de-greasing and mould-removal products could also be of use. It's important to remember to clean the floor as well as the walls and windows, in order to get rid of any lurking creepy crawlies.
Next, think about adding some outdoor plumbing. This will allow you to fit a bath, hot tub, sauna or even just a shower - it all depends on your personal preference.
Once you've got the plumbing under control, and had the appliance of your choice fitted, you can start to think about the aesthetics. Think about adding in some shelves, or cupboards, allowing you to store towels, beauty products and candles. For a super indulgent treat, add in a mini-fridge, where you can store chocolates and wine - perfect for a relaxing night in.
Why not consider freshening up the walls with a lick of paint? Choosing a bright, neutral colour could be a good idea, particularly if you don't intend to live in the house forever; however rich, dark colours can also be really inviting, and provide a sumptuous atmosphere. In addition, due to the composition of the material, only special (and generally very expensive) paints can be used if colour change is required so be prepared to pay that extra amount for the correct finish.
Now it's time to think about the little touches, such as that expensive bubble bath you always eye up in the supermarket, or some over-sized church candles, adding a little ambiance. You could also invest in a nice fluffy bathrobe or two, making for a truly spa-like experience.
At this point it is important to ensure that hot air can cause condensation inside the metal shed or building and as such you will need to ensure that any conversions are professionally completed with suitability and safety in mind.
