When the museum was first opened, the renovation was done to make the Nezu\'s home look like it.
The original building was destroyed by air strikes.
The art survived and was temporarily exhibited in a military camp that survived the 1946 fire.
The building was rebuilt in 1954 and a new exhibition hall was built in 1991.
Renovation began in 2006 and the exhibition hall completed 2009 square meters.
