Let me tell you about a project we’re particularly proud of—our custom bathtub design for the Kah-Nee-Ta Resort in the USA. Located at 6823 Hwy 8, Warm Springs, OR 97761, this resort opened its doors on July 18th, 2024, and we were thrilled to be part of it. The client had some pretty specific needs, and we were more than up for the challenge.

What Makes This Bathtub Special?

The folks at Kah-Nee-Ta wanted a wide-rimmed bathtub that could comfortably fit 4-6 people. Sounds simple, right? But we took that concept and ran with it. We designed an internal round seat that’s not just comfy but also practical. We even added a unique five-pointed star shape in the middle to make sure everyone has plenty of room to stretch out their feet. It’s the kind of design that not only works but also looks incredible—definitely a head-turner.

We didn’t stop there. We also put a lot of thought into the seat and backrest heights. After all, what’s the point of a fancy bathtub if it’s not comfortable? We used average sitting heights to make sure the seat is just right, so guests can relax in style.

The Challenges We Faced and Nailed

Now, this wasn’t an easy project. For starters, this was the first time we tackled a double-layer bathtub with a whopping 1880mm diameter. It took a lot of manpower and some serious skill to combine the internal and external structures seamlessly.

Another tricky part was the drain. With all that water, the pressure was intense, and regular drains just couldn’t handle it. So, we designed a custom drain that’s strong enough to do the job.

Oh, and did I mention the bathtub weighs 470KG? Yeah, it’s heavy. We had to custom-build the packaging, complete with a steel-reinforced bottom tray, to make sure it arrives safely at the resort.
