Which is safer, pure copper faucet or stainless steel faucet, Rifeng Sanitary Ware has an analysis

Which is safer, pure copper faucet or stainless steel faucet, Rifeng Sanitary Ware has analyzed that it happened that the house was renovated recently, and I have studied the faucet for a long time. I will share some insights and experiences here for your reference. When choosing a kitchen faucet, the editor considers more questions: can it be used for a long time? Will it pollute the water? To solve these problems, we must first understand the structure of the faucet. The overall structure of the faucet is divided into the valve core, the main body and the surface layer. The valve core is the part that controls the flow of water in and out. It is the heart of the faucet. Whether it can be durable depends on it; the main body is the main component of the faucet, which is the bone. Most of the water pollution is due to the poor material of this part; the coating is the surface layer of the faucet The substance, that is, the skin of the faucet, is responsible for the appearance of the faucet. Can it be used for a long time? The faucet is turned on and off every day. We can't remember how many times it is turned on and off in a day. So the first question we consider when buying is whether it can be used for a long time. The active part of the faucet is on the spool when it is switched on and off, so if you want it to last longer, it depends on the quality of the spool. The quality of the spool can be judged by seeing whether it can withstand a long-term non-drip test. This test is aimed at the life test of the spool. It is clearly stipulated in the national faucet testing standard that the non-drip test of the switch requires no less than 200,000 switching times. In addition to judging the quality from this test index, you can also evaluate it from the senses. Turn the handle up, down, left and right, and feel light and unobstructed, indicating that the quality is good. At present, ceramic valve core is the most suitable valve core material for home use, and it is also widely used by many faucet manufacturers. It is the most cost-effective, because it is easy to obtain materials, and it can be used for a long time with wear resistance and hot and cold temperatures. Although impurities in the water may damage the ceramic valve core, the quality of tap water used by residents is relatively good, and this factor can basically be ignored. Material selection: ceramic valve core, the most cost-effective. Quality evaluation: The non-drip test of the switch requires no less than 200,000 switching times. Sensory evaluation: turn the handle up, down, left and right, light and unobstructed. Will the water quality be polluted? The frequent exposure of the faucet to lead to lead poisoning caused the residents to start to panic. So when buying a faucet, in addition to the quality, I will also consider whether it will pollute the water quality. Whether the faucet will pollute the water quality depends on the material of the main body part that has been in contact with the tap water for a long time. The main materials of the faucet are cast iron, plastic, zinc alloy, copper alloy, and stainless steel. Cast iron is prone to rust, plastic is prone to aging, zinc alloy has poor stability and is prone to bursting, resulting in short-term use. Therefore, it is not recommended to buy faucets of these three materials. At present, copper alloy is the most suitable main material for home use. Because copper ions have a certain bactericidal effect and prevent bacteria from producing antibodies, the inner wall of the copper tap will not breed bacteria, which is incomparable to other materials. This is why many brands now choose copper materials to make faucets. Brass in copper alloy is a combination of copper and zinc. It has good mechanical properties, wear resistance and corrosion resistance, so it has become the first choice for faucet materials. There are many types of brass because of the copper content. At present, most faucets use H59 copper, that is, brass with a copper content of 57% to 61%. In fact, some international bathroom brands even use H62 copper. Production of faucets, because H62 copper has a higher copper content than H59 copper and has better corrosion resistance. In addition to copper and zinc, brass also contains a small amount (less than 0.5%) of lead. When the faucet is exposed to lead to lead poisoning, everyone thinks it is caused by the lead in the brass itself, but all those who leave the dose to talk about the poisoning are hooligans. The current national standard for lead content in faucets is that as long as the amount of lead precipitation does not exceed 5μg/L, it will not threaten human health. In fact, the standard H59 copper does not need to worry about this problem. Most of the faucets on the market that detect excessive amounts of lead precipitation are not standard brass, but are shoddy zinc alloys, or have too many impurities infiltrated, or are roughly processed from recycled scrap copper. The faucets made in this way all have quality problems. If you want to completely eliminate lead exposure, there is another option-stainless steel faucet. Now many brands have begun to develop stainless steel faucets, because they can be completely lead-free, but due to the complexity of the process and the lack of antibacterial advantages of copper, it is currently not popular. Material selection: brass is the most suitable faucet material, which has antibacterial effect. Among them, H59 copper is the most suitable, lead content is also qualified, H62 copper and lead content is less and more corrosion resistant; stainless steel can be lead-free, and 304 food grade is used Stainless steel material, can be in contact with drinking water for a long time. Pollution evaluation: The amount of lead precipitation in the lead content test does not exceed 5μg/L, which means it is qualified. Sensory evaluation: Brass can be identified by the method of estimating weight. Brass is heavier and harder, and other alternative materials are lighter and softer; stainless steel can be sensoryly compared with sinks made of food-grade stainless steel. (
