If you think the base sink is old
Take a look at some of the new models provided by contemporary designers.
They offer a refreshing alternative to the vanity set up in most homes.
Before replacing the existing vanity table with the base sink, check the current position of the pipe connection (
Water supply and drain).
If these pipes are not required to be moved to accommodate the new fixture, it will be relatively easy to install the new sink.
If they do, you have to open the wall, expose the pipe and modify it.
First measure the height of the drain pipe;
That is, the distance from the floor to the point where the pipe appears from the wall.
This measurement is then compared to the drainage requirements on the new base sink.
If the measurement is only 2 inch apart, you will be able to install the base sink with almost no problems.
The gap between measurements is large, which means you have to move the drain.
This can be a big job and you may not want to bother to change the base sink.
Next, look at the supply line.
Will be closed in most cases-
Off valve with flexible chrome
Plated copper tube, Rise tube, extend to faucet. The new hook-
Up only needs to close the valve and connect the new riser from the valve to the sink faucet.
However, there will be more work to be done if you decide to relocate the closed House
Close the valves so they are hidden by the bowl of the new sink.
You then have to open the wall and connect the extra pipe to the existing line.
If you decide to continue the project, turn off the water to vanity first.
Disconnect and remove the supply riser, drain pipe and trap.
Then remove the vanity.
It is very likely that the cabinets will be screwed to the wall or on the floor.
Advertising the design of most base sinks is mainly supported by hanging brackets mounted on the back panel.
Even if you are not going to move the existing pipe, you still need to open part of the wall to install the back plate.
The length of the backing plate is 2 by 8, connected to the wall nail.
Since the bolts are 16 inch apart in the center, the plate should be 18 inch long.
The height of the mountain board (
From the floor)
Will be decided by the sink request;
Be sure to check the specifications before cutting to the wall.
To install the back panel, pass through the wall panel with a tool knife and saw.
The cut must be large enough--
About 9 by 19 inch--
Hold the back panel and expose the support wall pillar.
Use a handsaw to cut the front edge of the bolt and set the plate into the cut.
Fix the board in place using drywall screws.
Close the wall with a new wall panel.
Then tape and spackle around the joint;
Polish the patch and paint the wall.

Next check the floor.
The place where the dresser is located may have a striking rectangle.
Try to remove it with a fine polished floor
Thick steel mat.
If this does not work, you must replace the lid.
You can start installing the sink when the floor and walls are finished.
First install the hanger bracket on the wall. Use 1/4-
The inch diameter lag bolt that holds it on the back plate.
Use the level to ensure the bracket is level and level.
Next, connect the faucet to the sink.
Depending on the brand of the faucet, the installation configuration may vary, but usually the faucet will have a threaded pipe, a tailpipe, a hole in which it passes through the sink, fixed in the appropriate position with a washer and mounting nut.
Now you can lift the sink and hang it on the hanger stand.
The base sink may be heavy and while one can lift it up in place, it\'s much easier and safer to get help from the assistant to get this task done.
Make sure the sink is fixed on the suspension stand and then connect the drain.
The drain part is secured in place with sliding nuts and washers.
Next, connect the riser from the closing valve.
These have compression fittings with compression nuts attached.
At this point, you can slide the base in place.
Place a piece of cardboard under the base to prevent scratches on the floor while manipulating the floor.
You have to lift the sink a little so that the base can slide under the sink.
Be careful if you pull too much (
More than 1/4)
You can crack the sink around the hanger.
For most sinks, the base is fixed in place by fixing it on the floor.
Check whether the size and positioning of the anchor bolts comply with the manufacturer\'s instructions.
You must drill a pilot hole for the Bolt.
Mark the floor through the holes on the base, and then slide the base out of the track while drilling.
Replace the base and fix it.
Ads apply a circle of silicon caulking around the base and around the edge of the sink, touching the wall at the edge of the sink. Open the shut-
Close the valve, fill the sink with water and allow it to drain.
Double check all pipes and connections for leaks.
